“Go thunk yourself” philosophy— “Have an x-ray vision”, –Day 8
(The ideas that have been learned from the book “Go thunk yourself” by Dr. Robert C. Worstell, are being shared. This is the eighth principle)
When was the last time you heard that a dog or a monkey or a crocodile or a parrot that is trained that does a thing or a stunt in an excellent way– a humdinger, and then improving on it year after year not by it’s trainer by on it’s own by fixing a goal or having a vision or better yet, doing something using it’s imagination that just kept the public enthralled?
Not in a million years or even in a billion years! They can be trained by us to do some extraordinary feats in a rote way, but they cannot have a “vision”, ever, to work on, to improve themselves or their lives drastically and dramatically.
Only you are endowed with such a marvelous and astounding gift to “Envision” your ideal future that you want!
Visions are hopes and dreams and they create your reality. Without vision nothing worthwhile can be achieved.
The only animal on the planet to have shown great strides of improvement in every area since the inception of the world is Human beings.
The Bible declares aptly,
“Where there is no vision, the people perish”
Proverbs 29:18
The thin line between perishing and prospering is vision, as it is the vision that shows one the “Path”, “The would-be reality” after his/her mind has been decluttered and detoxified from old behaviors and positive behaviors and thoughts has been installed.
Imagination can be both a help and an impediment:
Now there are two friends, Sam and Julian. They both grew up in the same locality, had been together getting the same sort of education and both are equally qualified in their profession. In about five years after they both got job offers in the same company, Julian had climbed the ladder so quickly whereas Sam was rather pulling himself down in his job.
Let’s look what happened from their perspective:
–Sam looked for problems and imagined them; Julian looked for opportunities amidst problems and seized them. Their pictures or “Vision” were different.
– Sam would shrink like a snail on the slight touch of “Criticism” from others in their working place; Julian “Pictured” his good future and so thought that these “Criticisms” whether creative or destructive, are a part and parcel of the daily life.
– Sam always pictured or envisaged “Impossibilities”; Julian always pictured or imagined himself overcoming all the “Difficulties and obstacles” successfully and took effective actions.
They both used their God-given gifts. One to his upgradation and creatively and the other to his degradation and destructively, thus proving the fact that “vision” can be used either for us or against us!
What is a vision and using it effectively:
Vision, simply put, is a mental creation. Vision is the complete and comprehensive view (in your inward eye) of the ideal result or condition you want to experience in your life.
It’s the reality that you would like to experience, the reality that is a “Burning desire” inside you! (Or sometimes when you start foreseeing something, that’d soon be shifted from a mere “Desire” to a “Burning Desire”).
Let’s say that you’d like to or have planned to buy a high-end computer. Imagine the RAM, the size and type of RAM you’d like to have in your system, the monitor size—19” or 21”, LCD monitor or a HD LCD monitor, the hard disk drive capacity—500GB or 1TB, the type of case, the color of case, the keyboard make, kind of speakers you’d like to have—home theater with high RMS or just a sleeky, small “Bose” speakers, the processor make and speed, motherboard make, the range and facilities in it, external hard disk make, the operating system- Windows or Linux, etc..
Get into minute details. Imagine it from every conceivable angle possible. Imagine it, touch it, smell it as if you ALREADY OWNED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM.
The more your vision is in details and clarity, the more the environment or the natural forces come in to your aid or comply with you in making the vision an actuality.(INTENSITY AND CLARITY of the vision is important).
The next step is keep the image that you have created for a purpose, and keep on refining it by thinking about the “Hows”, and who will benefit from it, what are advantages that you may get, etc.
The only limits that you have on your “Vision” are the self-imposed ones. Anything is possible and it wouldn’t do any harm to imagine at a large scale or high level.
And there’s this important phrase of wisdom,
“You’ll have to give before you get”
So start acting on the Vision. Think what you NEED TO DO AND WHAT YOU NEED TO BECOME to realize that vision, and just do it!
And by the way, Sam soon learned the secret from his buddy and on his way to a blessed life!
All you need is an x-ray vision to see beyond the normal vision to achieve wonderful things, and the good news is you already have it!
Wish you all the riches to come with God’s blessings
